Proper use and handling of your printer cartridges will provide high print quality and longer print cartridge life. Print with the HP 56 at least once a month to keep the nozzles clear and the print cartridges in good working order.

Your HP printer automatically primes, cleans, and caps the HP 56 ink cartridge to maintain optimum print quality; these operations are not visible to users.

Keep the Ink cartridge sealed in the original packaging until ready to use. Ink can evaporate through the nozzles and the plastic body, reducing your printer cartridge's useful life. To ensure your ink cartridge has a longer life keep it sealed in the packaging, stored in a cool place until you are ready to install it.

After removing the HP 56 cartridge from its packaging, store it in the printer in the "home” position to help prevent ink from drying out in the nozzles. This will also minimise the risk of contamination with airborne dust particles.
