Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK is running the Big Ker-Ching Thing to raise funds in the workplace for research into cancer. Cancer Research UK will provide special bags and materials enabling people to turn their unwanted goods into money.

Capitalwastefacts, a website dedicated to explaining what is going on with waste across London.

Envirolink UK
Provides environmental advice for small to medium size enterprises on a wide range of subjects including ecodesign, energy efficiency and health and safety. A useful site for businesses seeking environmental information.

Association of Charity Shops
The Association of Charity Shops is the only member organisation dedicated to supporting charities who run shops as part of their fundraising activities. By pooling expertise and joining forces to promote common interests, they help members to operate their shops as effectively as possible. Members range from the largest national charities to locally based hospices.
The site also contains a 'Shop Locator' to help you find your local charity shop, where you can donate unwanted clothing, toys, books and bric-a-brac for reuse and recycling while raising vital funds for charity.

IT for Charities
An information site providing IT services for charities with a useful section about IT equipment recycling.

London remade
A public funded programme which aims to develop the markets for recycled products. Also available, a free brokerage service to businesses.

Re-Cycle
Re-Cylce collect unwanted bikes in the UK and ship them to Africa where they are refurbished and sold at affordable prices to local people who urgently need transport. Currently only operational in Essex, but hoping to expand to London in 2005.

Recycling Consortium
Recycling advice for the Bristol and Avon area. A useful local website with an education area.

ENCAMs is an environmental charity, which aims to achieve litter free and sustainable environments. The website includes information on the Tidy Britain campaigns.

EUROPEN
Europen provide information on packaging and the environment on a European level.

INCPEN
Incpen research the social and environmental impacts of packaging. The website provides useful statistics and factsheets of packaging use in the UK.

Waste Awareness Wales
Waste Awareness Wales is a campaign designed to encourage recycling and waste management throughout the community. The website contains advice for reducing and recycling your rubbish at home, at school and in the workplace.

Waste Watch
Wastewatch is a national charity which promotes the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste. The site gives lots of information on waste issues and legislation. There is also a useful educational section.

Envirowise
A government programme offering free, independent advice on practical ways to minimise waste and convert turnover into profit.

Groundwork Environmental Business Services
Provides practical support, advice, information, and training to companies on environmental business issues.

WWF
WWF is best known for its work to protect endangered species, but also works to protect precious habitats and campaigns against global threats to people and nature, such as climate change, deforestation and the use of toxic chemicals. WWF works with government, industry, educators and the wider public to seek sustainable solutions to our planet's problems

Policy & regulation
DEFRA
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. This has replaced the old Department of the Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food. Information on a wide range of environmental subjects can be accessed from this website, including consultation papers.

Department of Trade and Industry
All the latest regulations, speeches and press notices concerning trade and industry. This site is less useful for browsing but excellent as a library for the latest legal and media views.

DoE for Northern Ireland
Details of legislation and advice from Northern Ireland's Department of the Environment.

Environment Agency
The Environment Agency regulate the environment in England and Wales, the website contains a wealth of environmental information, tools, resources and features, with the latest news on legislation and compliance.

Environment and Heritage Service
The EHS is in charge of implementing the Government's environmental policy in Northern Ireland. It regulates Northern Ireland's packaging waste regulations.

Scottish Environment Protection Agency
The Scottish environmental regulator's website. Information is provided on environmental compliance and regulations. There is also a section on useful environmental data.

WRAP
The Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP) website provides further information on buying recycled products and links to useful organisations.

Freecycle
The worldwide Freecycle Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It was set up to pass unwanted items from one person to another for reuse. There is just one rule, everything must be free!

Free-Cycling UK
This site is here to help Recyclers meet to exchange items that would otherwise end up on a landfill site, whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door

Give or Take
This is "ebay for free" run by a community recycling project based in Walthamstow encouraging local people in this area and Essex to reuse items which may otherwise have been thrown away.
